Jardin de cactus

It is said that it was in a former quarry that César Manrique dreamed of a garden of stone, light and silence. In Guatiza, he created the Cactus Garden. Thousands of Mediterranean species form a kaleidoscope of shapes and colours. The volcanic rock in the background highlights the vibrant greens, browns and yellows. As you climb the terraces, the panorama opens up, and the eye is drawn to the hills of Lanzarote, the dry land and the orange sky. This landscape has inspired our design studio for this panoramic design composed of multi-coloured organic shapes. Hand-painted and then placed on a natural background that recalls a textile, they speak of colourful Mediterranean landscapes and invite escapism.
